NRB Week
Saturday, August 24–Wednesday, August 28

Navigating Rensselaer & Beyond (NRB) is the official continuation of the orientation program that includes adventure/team-building activities, historical/cultural programs, and community service opportunities all designed to help students get to know one another. One of the goals of NRB is to help connect all incoming students with fellow classmates while participating in interest-based activities. Another goal is to familiarize new members of our community with the Rensselaer campus, city of Troy, and surrounding areas.

For the whole day on Sunday, students will be pre-registered for a day trip activity according to their interests. Beginning Monday, we move to a more typical campus atmosphere where students and their new friends decide what they would like to participate in. All first-year students are expected to attend these programs.

Volunteer Registration is Open

Capoeira is played as a game in a roda ("wheel"/circle) rather than a competitive match.  There are different "game modes" with different styles that are grounded in tradition and culture. In these games, the goal is not to hurt your opponent but get him or her to mess up in some way. Force your opponent out of the roda to acieve a win.
